Do you have a fungal infection on your scalp? |
 |
Tinea Capitis is a fungal infection of the scalp. This form of patchy hair loss happens when certain types of fungi infect the scalp. It causes hair to break off just above the surface of the scalp and the skin on the head becomes flaky and scaly. This is the most common form of hair loss in children and appears as patchy hair loss.
This is usually treated for a period of at least 6 – 12 weeks and hair regrowth might be slow, depending on how early it is begun.
